Björk said the album expresses her feelings before and after her breakup with American contemporary artist Matthew Barney and the healing process. Björk - Vulnicura ALBUM REVIEW. Vulnicura is the eighth studio album by Icelandic musician and singer Björk. Following the cosmically conceptual Biophilia 2011, its disarming yet reassuring to hear the Icelandic icons stratospheric voice wailing bluntly about recognizable human emotions. Vulnicura was originally scheduled for release in March 2015, in conjunction with the Björk: Archives book and an exhibition about Björk's career at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City following an internet leak, it was released digitally two months. Vulnicura is the eighth studio album by Björk. The album was written in 2013, the year Björk and her partner Matthew Barney broke up, and it documents the progressive deterioration of the relationship and the subsequent overcoming of her pain. 27 September 2017 . Of the albums nine tracks, six are written by Björk with two co-written with Arca and one co-written with Spaces. Язык: Русский. Vulnicura Björk's 9 studio album PREORDER vulnicura. Worst of 2015. Vulnicura honors her pain and the necessary path through and away from loss with some of her bravest, most challenging, and most engaging music. But it does contain what may be the albums most telling line: I am fine-tuning my soul, sings Björk, to the universal wavelength. Björk Music Videos. Vulnicura is ranked 732nd in the overall chart, 102nd in the 2010s, and 13th in the year 2015. It was produced by Björk, Arca and The Haxan Cloak, and released on 20 January 2015 by One Little Indian Records. Best of 2015. Over her four-decade career, she has developed an eclectic musical style that draws on a range of influences and genres, spanning electronica, pop, experimental, classical, trip hop, IDM, and avant-garde music. Delivered in a wounded cry of desperation, this lyric-from standout track Notget -is emblematic of Björks profoundly vulnerable ninth studio album. Genre: Art Pop. Björk chronicles the demise of her relationship with gorgeous choruses and audacious melodies on one of her most cohesive and emotional albums yet, writes Alexis Petridis, writes Alexis Petridis. Starting with the album cover's woundvulva imagery, she explores the tightly linked emotional and physical pain the end of a relationship brings with an intensity that has been missing from her music for too long. Björk said the album expresses her feelings before and after her breakup with artist Matthew Barney and the healing process. Björk Guðmundsdóttir is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, record producer, actress and DJ. Страна: США. Björk - Vulnicura. Vulnicura doubles down on these elements, from the choir arrangements to the yonic wound imagery of the cover, like Björks attempt at a grand unified photoshoot of female pain, to Vulnicuras echoes from the first track Moments of clarity are so rare-I better document this of the long tradition of women artists thinking and rethinking their. Given sonic texture by her lush string arrangements and the skittering beats of co-producer Arca, Vulnicura was written in response to the dissolution of Björks longtime relationship with artist Matthew Barney. This album is rated in the top 2 of all albums on . Never one to do things timidly, with Vulnicura Björk delivers a breakup album that isn't just sad - it throws listeners into the total devastation of heartbreak. Vulnicura was written, produced and recorded in collaboration with Venezuelan producer Arca and British musician The Haxan Cloak. In Björks discography, Vulnicura most resembles Vespertine, another unyieldingly cerebral work about vulnerability and being turned by love to besotted viscera, and also an unmistakably female album. Icelandic singer, songwriter, producer Björk is back with another record, and it's one filled with. It was produced by Björk, Arca, and The Haxan Cloak, and released on 20 January 2015 by One Little Indian Records. The lyrics arent the best on Vulnicura after almost 40 minutes of starkly drawn emotional turmoil, theres something jarring about her breaking out the kooky physics metaphors and inspirational poster-type slogans about dancing through the pain and learning by love to open up. Reviews:
  • Wrathshaper
I received a black vinyl even though it says yellow here:(
  • Dusho
very heavy and beautiful, i bought it in amazon for 25.84.I'm in love with the color
  • Oparae
I bought mine for €23 also on Amazon! It really is beautiful!
  • Whitesmasher
Has anyone had any issues with this being pressed off center at all? The black pressing had that issue and it was unbearable to listen to with all the strings on this album. I sent 2 copies back and gave up. Someone please tell me the yellow was pressed properly!!
  • Tiainar
Lot of surface noise on mine, album sounds like crap.
  • Alsath
Labeling this as "dual colored vinyl" makes it sound like the records are two colors. Weird wording.
  • Welen
Hello ! I can't understand how to open extract the vinyl from the sleeve. Is it necessary to destroy the acerate plastic sleeve? I can't extract the gatefold sleeve from the acerate artwork . Thanks and all the best! Giuseppe - edit finally I extract it , maybe my copy comes with a wrong acerate slipcase system ...
  • Ishnllador
It is tough to get the gatefold out of the outer sleeve, haha. But a little perseverance is all you need. FWIW it's even more difficult to get it back in.
  • Simple
My copy plays very nice, both on my Thoren and TEAC. My Thoren, which is a delicate deck with Goldring PU, can be very sensible to bad presses. Guess I was lucky this time! Originally bought in UK.
  • Ienekan
My copy is an absolute mess. The surface noise is at times completely unbearable (especially side b).
  • energy breath
My copy plays fine, nearly no noise other than the first 10 secs from the lead in groove. It is a lot better sounding than the Spotify stream... far more dynamic and "stereo". Often with lots of noise on records I find a Antistatic gun (Zerostat) seems to solve it as it is static and not dirt. Hopefully yours is static and not a bad pressing.
  • Moonworm
My copy is not noisy at all, would recommend this is a return to form for her, beautiful records and package and sounds great
  • Dream
Let's face it. Bjork is not a vinyl listen! Vinyl is great when it works, but it doesn't work for her voice nor for her music.
  • spark
The sad thing is that Bjork COULD BE great on vinyl. Homogenic's 180g black vinyl pressing is incredible, for example. But so many of the other albums got the shaft on vinyl. Vespertine is spread out across 2LP's in a really awkward way, Volta removes a lot of the transitions for no good reason, and even Utopia has a reordered tracklist so it doesn't flow right at all...
  • Mr_NiCkNaMe
I've tried. Lord knows I'VE TRIED!
  • Pedora
Still noisy. No actual mention of MPO in the runout grooves, oddly. Avoid unless you just want a nicely coloured frisbee in ornate packaging.
  • Ka
I really want to get this but I am not buying unless it sounds great. Can anyone confirm? Apparently the black pressing was not the best.
  • Thordira
My yellow copy sounds pretty good compared to my black press. :) so i am really enjoying it, not only fancy useless coloured vinyl but great sound
  • Redfury
Its definitely not useless, it puts a smile on my face to see those pretty colors rotate on my turntable
  • Utchanat
Is anyone else experiencing high amount of surface noise with this? especially on side B
  • Beabandis
The yellow LP was only sold at the Independent Label Market. Then on the 24th will be one yellow LP and one green i have an email from One Little Indian confirming this.
  • Wohald
"ultra limited", 5000 copies. ;)
  • Shistus
A joke
  • Kiutondyl
Welcome to OLI showbizzzz..... where their pockets are never full enough.....
  • Zovaithug
Gotta push units. I wish OLI had the foresight to make it the initial release. I already got the black LP. Oh well.
  • Gardagar
Can anyone comment on whether or not this pressing is actually good? Really want a vinyl copy of this with the acetate cover and was just wondering, as this one seems to be pressed onto black vinyl...
It is certainly loud enough and sounds good. The low volume seems to be most peoples problem but if I go from a Techno 45rpm 12" to this album I only have to adjust the volume for about 5 db to get roughly the same volume.
