Album

Blonde alternatively titled blond is the second studio album by American singer Frank Ocean. In 2013, Ocean confirmed that his follow up to Channel Orange would be another concept album. Initially known as Boys Don't Cry and teased for a July 2015 release, the album suffered several delays and was the subject of widespread media anticipation. 50 видео Воспроизвести все Микс Frank Ocean - Blond 2016 Full AlbumYouTube. Though its rich in luxurious wordplay and melody, Ocean favors impressionism here, from the mood-altering moves of Nights to the velveteen drift of White Ferrari. The result is oblique yet surprisingly emotional and intimate-a tour de force that sneaks up on you. At first, Frank Ocean was simply a great storyteller. Then he became the story-an avatar for all of our fluid modern ideals. He could be the dynamic human of the future, exploding age-old binaries with an eloquent note, melting racial divisions with a devastating turn of phrase or quick flit to falsetto. You represent the race, and you have responsibilities that go beyond your art. Frank Ocean. Released August 20, 2016. Blonde Tracklist. Blonde is the second studio album by the enigmatic Frank Ocean. The album was released on August 20, 2016, following a four-year hiatus after the release of channel ORANGE. Fans have speculated that the use of blond on the album cover and blonde on the album listing is a reference to Franks bisexuality and the themes of duality between masculinity and femininity in his life with blond being the masculine form, and blonde being the feminine. The word blonde itself holds two interpretations. This poster displays an image of Frank Ocean with the blond font. This album was huge for Frank Ocean and a personal favorite. Frank Ocean's long-awaited new studio album is his most adventurous project to date. Author: Yoh Phillips. I believe the first listen of BlondBlonde is very crucial. It is the listen that closes a chapter thats been on-going for the last four years, and the beginning of a new one. For Frank, for fans, and for all the brilliant memes, jokes, and trolls that were made during the wait, it has been one hell of a ride

Reviews:
  • Beazerdred
Maybe I just have personal stake in it, but I think the record sounds great. There's a bit of surface noise but the mastering itself is top notch on my system. The sleeve itself is quality too, and I much prefer the greyscale cover to the color one.
  • generation of new
Finally heard a rumor about a repress!! Fingers crossed. Can’t say I feel sorry for the scalpers who haven’t sold yet:)) Buhu
  • Coiriel
Hm, I can’t find the post anymore. Maybe it’s deleted... I just sent a DM to the person who wrote it.
  • ZloyGenii
Ay you can post a screenshot of it or whatever? I'm sure the fanbase would be happy to know.
  • Dagdatus
A guy on a Facebook vinyl group I’m in, he posted a mail correspondence between him and XL, where they basicly said a repress was on the way. But probably not before the summer.
  • MisTereO
where did you hear that? I tried to google it - nothing
  • krot
I couldn't resist and ended up getting a copy from a seller here. It really is an outstanding pressing. Will keep it as a holy grail :)
  • Mustard Forgotten
CLUTCHBOX coming through with the GF reset on Discogs' Falco
  • Qumen
how much you paid for it? hate the overprincing here ):
  • Rgia
XL usually reissue every album they release. I'm sure this will be reissued at some point. Be patient and don't pay the scalpers silly money
  • Androrim
unless Frank allows them... which he will, sooner or later
  • Windworker
This was released by Frank independently and the distribution handled by XL. Pretty sure they won't have the rights to repress it.
  • saafari
Jesus take the wheel, i guess frank is trolling the vinyl community, especially for EU people.
  • thrust
Do you remember how many was the shipping? I live in France and I want to know.
  • Mayno
How? I'm from the EU and purchased both Endless and Blond when he released them on Cyber Monday/Black Friday. Shipping was pretty reasonable too.Just keep an eye out the BF or CM and don't miss this years release.
  • Daigrel
God, the scalping here is out of control! Prime example of why people don't get into records, right here. Ya'll should be ashamed...
  • Beranyle
Frank could have also chosen to release 5x the amount he did.
  • RuTGamer
While I agree that scalpers are the scum of the Earth, I don't think scalping prevents people from getting into records as a whole. Just because one album isn't available without a huge price tag, it doesn't negate the endless amounts of music still widely available for appropriate prices.
  • MrDog
Price wouldn't be so high if people stopped buying it for that price. If everyone had just held off and not paid scalpers price would have dropped but people keep buying for more and more so people will keep selling more and more. This sort of price is to blame on the people buying just as bad as the people selling.
  • Ffan
Supply and Demand. In classical economic theory, the relation between these two factors determines the price of a commodity. This relationship is thought to be the driving force in a free market. As demand for an item increases, prices rise.
  • Dukinos
The sound is OK. Some songs sound good, some (most noticeably Solo (Reprise)) are a bit harsh and others sound a little bit flat. But, overall it's a decent pressing.Regardless, I'm so so so happy to have a copy on wax for a semi-reasonable price
  • Moonworm
I got a copy so I'm not complaining, but stunts like this is why German bootleggers thrive
  • Marilbine
Um can someone out there do a better FLAC rip of the 2xLP. The one I have distorts on "Nights" quite a bit.. unfortunate as it's one of the best tracks. This is approaching the price of my record player!
  • Bolanim
Why do you want a FLAC rip of an lp that's a FLAC file pressed onto vinyl?
  • Tat
if that's true please get a better turntable to save your records
  • Ytli
I’m afraid to listen to mine. Damn, it’s valuable. No one wonder orders were limited to one per household
  • Tholmeena
Owning music that you don't like to is like buying food that you consider too good to eat.
  • Early Waffle
not true. I ordered two. one for a friend. cheers
  • Shakanos
Hey, I have a little question... uuuh... why so expensive?
  • Gravelblade
why? Did Frank ever swear on anything that he'll never allow a repress? It certainly sells and I don't get why wouldn't he... It will happen eventually
  • Narim
This release was only available for 24 hours as part of Frank Oceans 2016 Black Friday webstore. It will probably remain the only official vinyl release.
  • Anarawield
how much copies were pressed any of you got an ide?
  • Faugami
I'm guessing no more than 5K-10K are out there. Super limited
  • Hǻrley Quinn
I believe they were made based on order. extra text
  • Frostdefender
I'm not sure about how many copies were pressed, but I do know that the distributor no longer has any copies. For a while they were sending out replacements for damaged merchandise but they no longer have any available to ship replacements.
  • Danskyleyn
My copy came damaged pretty heavily from Sandbag, which really sucked. On Side A there's some issues with the left channel not playing because of heavy scratching around the first few songs. There's even two gouges that make me scared to play the record anymore in fear of damaging my needle. The undamaged parts sound fine but they're very quiet, and sometimes there's clipping such as at the end of Ivy.
  • Thozius
Did you end up getting the damaged copy replaced? I'd be interested in taking the damaged copy off your hands - would love a copy of this record just not at these crazy high prices.
  • Wizard
email sandbag for a replacement they just need picture proof.
  • SoSok
Nevermind! I don't see any record on my bank statements that the purchase went through but I definitely remember hopping on and ordering it. That's frustrating! I've been wondering why it hasn't shown up yet and just thought to look on here. Has anyone here had that situation happen before? Probably can't reach out to them with that excuse to get one. They'll tell me to kick rocks!
  • Beazerdred
I just ordered a copy of Endless this morning. It let me check out, so it looks like it's still available for the moment. Glad I got in on one!
  • Ginaun
Do you recall if you purchased it from your phone? I just purchased Endless from my phone and thought checkout was complete, but it wasn’t. It redirects you BACK to their site from Paypal to confirm shipping/billing address. Maybe that’s what happened? Bummer man! You should jump on a copy of Endless before Midnight tonight! :)
  • Thetalen
Holy shit! I ordered this and mine still hasn't shown up yet... uhhhhh... any thoughts?
  • Ubranzac
Super clean, and very quiet record!! Pretty impressed with the pressing itself, but disappointed by sandbag and distribution. Super disorganized, and many rookie mistakes were made. I ordered ASAP on black friday, but just received my copy ((with no black friday sticker)). They should have had plenty of stock on hand, or only put a number of copies up for sale. It seems like they got too many orders they couldn't fill, and then pulled stock from the upcoming standard release to fill them after the black friday copies ran out.
  • Blueshaper
I remember hopping on and ordering a copy on the 25th and I thought I'd hop on today and check why it's taking so long and it looks like it already shipped a LONG time ago. I can't seem to find it on my bank statement or anything. For some reason maybe it didn't go through? Do you think I'd have ANY luck reaching out to them for a copy? Kind of hard without a order number!
  • just one girl
I didn't get the black friday sticker either, but there are numerous reports of damage on the ones that have it, so they may have just pulled them.
  • Conjulhala
I dont think the standard release will look like this though? Will definitely not have the black cover, so I dont see how they pulled stock from the upcoming release.
  • Stan
Also no invoice on the outside of the package, so i have to drive to the customs to pick it up.. very unprofessional..
  • Mitynarit
Is this album title , "Blond" ? or "Blonde" ?
  • Beazekelv
I think the official name is "blonde". However on the label it is spelled "blond".
  • Purebinder
Mine is says "blond" on the front and on the spine.
  • Mayno
I think it looks cute without the 'E'. . .
  • Walan
but frank's bisexual not bigender. the album's official title is "blonde" but the cover says "blond" some people also think it's because the "e" belongs to Emdless, the other album frank released a day before Blonde
  • Kipabi
it's both. In french the femme version is with an E and the masc version is without. the cover says BLOND while the spine says BLONDE. This represents the duality of Frank's gender.
  • Nejind
Mine finally arrived today. Had been sent by DHL from the US but I had to pick it up at the Royal Mail office and pay an extra £13 customs. No Black Friday sticker. Vinyl has some light scuff marks which I put down to the low quality black inner sleeves.
  • Chuynopana

Plays very well and mostly very clean, a little static crackle in the right channel but very pleased
  • I am hcv men
So it seems that there is a variation of the record being shipped out now. People have recently been receiving the record without the Black Friday sticker on the shrinkwrap and the newer arrivals have 'XL Recordings' on the back cover.
  • BeatHoWin
I got both versions and can absolutley confirm this. One version with sticker but no logo, one version with logo but no sticker.

I got two versions! I have one copy with a sticker but no Xl Logo and the other way around.

  • Elizabeth
It happened to me i got my copy a week before christmas with the black friday sticker and no "XL" logo and ordered a replacement due to packaging damage and received it this week with no sticker and the "XL" logo.
  • Kekinos
Hes fackin right. my copy doesnt have an xl logo
  • Ttexav
where's your source for this information man? still waiting on mine, fwiw
  • Amis
My copy finally arrived in the mail today. It plays great!
  • Shaktit
Solid pressing. But Solo (Reprise) is practically unplayable because of skips on my copy. Anyone else?
  • Mariwyn
Solid pressing to me would be no skips . . .
  • Rageseeker
Mine sounds great all the way through.. What kind of turntable do you use?
  • misery
If any of you are having trouble on why your vinyl didn't come when you ordered it on Black Friday, contact Sandbag on their Twitter account. They seem to be way more responsive there than their email. I was sent the wrong item and I tweeted them and they replied right away saying they would send me a replacement once they got more in production. I didn't get a shipping confirmation email, but it did arrive, though the cover was a little damaged(and not from shipping). Hope this helps

I had the same situation, super frustrated emailing Sandbag and getting little to no response. My actual item did randomly appear one day and it appears in great condition. I haven't had a chance to play it yet though. Having an extra item I didn't pay for made me more patient, sorry to hear others had similar troubles.
  • Mr_TrOlOlO
FINALLY GOT MY SHIPPED CONFIRMATION. I really hope they do a wider release so no one has to pay these stupid prices. Original cost was $40.Also, please if you must have this. dont buy right now.. the more people that get them in the more the price will drop. AT MOST this record should cost you $75

What was your order number? I'm curious how far along they are in order numbers...assuming they're actually sending them in order that is.

  • Nnulam
Got the exact same email, but end of day I got an shipment confirmation.
  • playboy
I haven't received any email other than my order conformation from when I pre-ordered.
  • Kirinaya
same. sent a few e-mails looking for any information and haven't gotten any reply
  • Gashakar
still haven't received an email with shipping information ... more words
  • Gelgen
I bought it from Sandbag ... sent an email asking what was up and got this response:"Update from the dispatch team:12/19/2016 7:50:10 PMOnHold reason: No vinyl to ship at this time. Temporary hold.Stock is currently been sent through from the warehouse and once the order is taken off hold an email with tracking details will be sent to you. Please note that this delay may continue well into January 2017 due to the high volumes going out.Thank youSandbag"
  • Hystana
My copy has "Side 1" on both sides of the first LP. =
  • Gadar
Jack they all say that. It's record 1 and record 2 not side one and two.
  • Billy Granson
Got an email: "We have been in touch with the suppliers and they have assured us stock is on the way, however delivery to the warehouse will be slightly later than anticipated. We fully appreciate that you have been very patient already and are understandably very eager to receive your goods. We now plan to despatch your order very early in January 2017."So..it seems some of us are still waiting for our copies.
  • Zainn
I got mine earlier this week (Monday). Can confirm that it sounds fucking fantastic and the packaging is great.
  • Fordredor
Top of mine is ripped as well, so I just contacted Sandbag to see if they could help out with a replacement cover.
  • Gozragore
Think there's anything we can do on getting this fixed somehow?
  • Niwield
How was the packaging of your record? I just received mine and it seems the top of the cover is ripped...
  • Jaberini
just got an email this morning basically saying they needed more stock and wont be sending out until January, blows since ive seen so many people receive it already. bummmmmmmed
  • Duktilar
there was only ever a limited amount of records. the delay is not due to demand, but more to do with poor distribution imo.
  • Modifyn
I'm right there with you. I'm guessing they sold alot more than they anticipated.
  • Aloo
as it is on XL recordings i guess they will be a proper release early in 2017, any news on that?
  • Tygralbine
Have not heard anything about that, but i can imagine if they do it, they make a different version than this one. Meanwhile, i'll listen my illegally downloaded mp3's (just because they are difficult to make the vinyl accessable, but i'm not into bootlegs). :-)

My shipment was ALMOST to me, unfortunately I had it going to a PO Box and did not realize fedex would not ship there and now it is being requested back to the shipper!!! I emailed the shipper at sandbaguk but their inbox is full and won't receive emails... SO MUCH FAIL. any thoughts anyone?
  • Dandr
Try [email protected] - they might be able to help out. Good luck!

Just got my Black Friday copy. Even after a cleaning there's plenty of surface noise throughout, and one LP even has some pretty bad marks on it. The marks don't seem to affect play, but with all the surface noise, I can't be sure.
  • Nalmezar
For what it's worth I played the LP on a different turntable and most of the sound issues are minimized. Still disappointed with the marks on the vinyl (LP 2, side 1), but overall worth the retail price.
  • Axebourne
That's disappointing. Hope that isn't the case with all the pressings. I still haven't gotten a shipping confirmation though
  • Reighbyra
Anyone know when this is expected to ship out? I forgot what the site said
  • Windbearer
They've started shipping out already within the US. Hopefully EU gets some news soon
  • Minnai
Perfect! They're on the upside then, great to hear! Still waiting to receive mine.
  • Doukree
I just got an email 15 minutes ago with a tracking number.
  • Rare
Okay, a little more insight; Shipping will begin December 19th and continue into January 2017
  • Maridor
Site said December 19th, but I guess shipping to for example EU will take a little longer.
  • Maman
It's pretty uncertain right now. But the dates we have are either December 12th, December 19th or January 2017
  • Binthars
There really shouldn't be an entry for this yet. People are rating a VINYL entry that they don't have. If you want to rate the music, go to Amazon.

Looks like the sellers are being reported and listings removed. Can we be patient and keep these "reviews" to the product itself when it arrives?
  • Magis
I can see this going the way of the signed version of Kendrick Lamar's, "Untitled, Unmastered." Patience, people.

One year later -- $294...lol good callLooks like people gave into the hypeNahmsayin?
  • Itiannta
Fast forward a year and they are still at $275...lol nice prediction

friggiesmalls oh relax. If the prices go down, so be it. Yes I purchased a copy, but I have no reason to convince people that these prices are justifiable. I don't plan on selling my copy and making profit. I was just stating what I thought. Maybe you're right, maybe you're wrong. I was just stating that the Kendrick Lamar record was autographed and was available for purchase for over a week, meanwhile this was available for 24 hours, and many people who came across it weren't aware that it was a limited offer. Also, while news media posted about this vinyl, Frank Ocean doesn't have any social media to post about it, so anyone who wasn't following music outlets like Pitchfork or Frank Ocean's subreddit might not have known about it. No need to get so defensive. I'm not being defensive, I'm on the offensive, brah ;-) Sorry if I came of as rude, but I'm sick and tired of hawks trying to charge ridiculous amounts of money for pretty regular ish. Last example I can think of is the Survive LP that temporarily was priced at €120, then two weeks later at €20. I just think it's so unethical to hoard copies and then totally overcharge fans for the products. I'd hate it if the record community become as profit driven as the sneaker community is now. Also, I dont follow neither subreddits, and I still read about the black friday release in pretty much every single culture and news media outlet that day. People should not get the impression that these copies are rare. Of course I can't say for sure, but I would be very surprised if the current price of $287 ends up reflecting the median price three months from now. I urge people to give it some time. When people give in to the hype, they give it validity. Nahmsayin?

friggiesmalls that's possible, but the autographed Untitled Unmastered sold WAY more than intended. It was originally supposed to sell like 3000 copies or something like that, but it sold out in a day but the company kept taking orders for over a week after. There's probably over 10,000 copies of signed UU... this was in a 24 hour time frame so I'd say there's probably only a couple thousand sold (especially since a lot of people didn't realize it was only for sale for a limited time) Dude, it's so obvious that you're trying to convince people these prices are realistic because you have a copy of it. The Frank Ocean black friday sale was covered by pretty much all of the music press, blogs and magazines, as well as a bunch of major news sites. Compared to this the Kendrick Lamar release had next to no exposure. Not to mention this already is one of the hottest albums of the year, and people have been waiting for it for months. The Kendrick Untitled release was largely perceived as "B-side material" by the mainstream fans. It's wishful thinking on your part to assume there's only a couple of thousand copies. Expect 6-7 at the very least. And with that in mind the prices should be about half of what they are now in no time.
  • Jeronashe
How do 12 people have this in hand already? Thought the release was pushed back to January.
  • Ranterl
when i purchased it said shipping Dec. 19th sooooo .
  • Stoneshaper
The listing on his site said it was shipping in January, not December.
  • Uleran
They ship dec. 19 and its all pre-orders. though im hoping they do another pressing
  • Kelerius
they don't, they're pre-sales. Once the record is shipped to them in January, they'll ship it out i think
  • Rarranere
How do we know Boys Don't Cry comes with this?
  • Arabella V.
Hm, it was written here yesterday that it was accompanied by Boys Don't Cry. It's since been removed. Just a misunderstanding then :)
  • Gandree
As far as I know it doesn't come with Boys Don't Cry - he had copies of it for sale separately. What would make you think it came with it?
  • Cheber
What the people who commented don't realize: this was a Black Friday edition. If another pressing is released, it will most likely have the normal white, color album art. It only sold for 24 hours on his website. There's no point of making a Black Friday edition if isn't a "short run" pressing. Do I think this will be the only official vinyl pressing? No. But it's a limited-release special edition. They will probably appear in a few stores now and then after they're shipped, but once they're gone they'll be gone for good. They will probably sell another official pressing in a month or two, but the cover will probably be the normal album art colors.
  • Damand
Oh, I absolute did realize that. I simply just noted that it was a pre order where everyone who wanted a copy was able to order one, and that you should expect there to be thousands of copies available. Given the big fan base of Frank Ocean and the coverage of both this record and the black friday sale, I wouldn't be surprised if this run ends up being much bigger than the second pressing. The prices don't reflect what the actual value of these records will be once released.
  • Gamba
Exactly. I completely agree! That's why there's the specific BF (Black Friday) sticker on the records
  • Iriar
Hope ppl are too smart to fall for this or read this first. Don't buy from any of these assholes. This won't a short run pressing, will be plenty of copies to go around.
  • Faehn
i am two years in the future and i am laughing at you
