Pink Moon - Nick Drake. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Nick Drake's title track off his 1972 album, Pink Moon, released by Hannibal. Written and performed by Nick Drake. His third and last album before Moon is the third and final studio album by the English musician Nick Drake, released in the UK by Island Records on 25 February 1972. It was the only one of Drake's studio albums to be released in North America during his lifetime: the only previous release there had been a 1971 compilation simply entitled Nick Drake featuring tracks from both his first two albums, which were not released in North America in their original forms until 1976. Pink Moon differs from Drake's previous albums in that. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей Nick Moon is the third and final studio album by the English folk musician Nick Drake. The album was released on February 25, 1972, on Island Records. Pink Moon is unique in its presentation. The album features surrealist cover art, poetic and symbolic lyrics, Nick Drakes slurring, solemn voice, and his artfully-skilled acoustic guitar playing. Unlike his previous two records, Pink Moon is performed solely by Drake, without guest musicians. Nick Drake alluded to doing a solo album in the only interview he ever gave, conducted by Jerry Gilbert for Sounds in 1971. Regarding Bryter Layter he sai. Pink Moon was Nick Drakes final studio album, a collection of short songs featuring only the singer accompanying himself on acoustic guitar, and piano on the title track. After recording the full album during two late night sessions in October 1971, he delivered the master tapes to Island Records, who were unaware of an upcoming album. After he left the office they found the tapes with the label Pink Moon. Annie Sullivan, creative director at Island, was tasked with the sleeve design. A non-talkative Nick Drake offered no clues beyond the album title, so she went with the standard approach of. Pink Moon - Nicked Drake. Listen free to Nick Drake Pink Moon Pink Moon, Place to Be and more. 11 tracks 26:50. Pink Moon is the third and final album by English musician Nick Drake. It was recorded at midnight in two separate two-hour sessions, over two days in October 1971, featuring only Nick Drake's vocals and guitar, as well as some piano later overdubbed by Drake on the title track. Pink Moon is folk icon Nick Drakes third and last full album - and at less than 30 minutes, it can seem as starkly foreshortened as the singers life, which ended in 1974 when he was 26. But as one of Drakes friends put it, If somethings that intense, it cant be measured in minutes. Rousing himself out of one of the paralyzing depressions that plagued him in his last years, Drake recorded these 11 tracks in two nights, often in just one take. He accompanies himself only on acoustic guitar, except for the title track, on which he overdubs a brief, lovely piano part. No side musicians or outside performers help this time around - it's simply Drake and Drake alone on vocals, acoustic guitar, and a bit of piano, recorded by regular producer Joe Boyd but otherwise untouched by anyone else

Really not bad for a budget priced reissue. Very quiet pressing too.
  • Daiktilar
A passable reissue. Some songs sound pretty good, but a few (Things Behind The Sun) have a similar sibilance issue I noticed on my Back To Black series version of Five Leaves Left, which I also sold and replaced... Good packaging, but sound could be slightly cleaner.
  • Gom
Beautiful pressing. Glad I waited to pick up the UK version.Really nice packaging, and of course the music is fantastic. RIP Nick.
  • Marg
My copy is not so quiet. I can hear more crackles than I'd expect for a record I bought new, especially when I see all the good reviews this pressing has here...
  • Laizel
Bought this gem a few years back & it still holds up & then some. You can hear every intricacy on this pressing-from the clanging & fretbuzz of Drake’s guitar strings to the resonance of his voice flowing through your speakers. I can’t imagine a better way to enjoy this album. The inner sleeves for Nick Drake's reissues are a little sketchy though; thankfully this one came out relatively unscathed.
  • Coiril
Great pressing. I concur this is the one to grab. If you’re in the US, just order this from Juno on the cheap, it’s the correct version.
  • SadLendy
Yes. It is. Sorry to be late to reply here
  • Zulkigis
So If I order on Juno, it's the UK 2013 pressing? All-analog?
This pressing is far superior to the UMe US pressing.
  • Murn
Another similar testimony here. I first picked up the US pressing and it's complete garbage. Decided to take a chance on this pressing and wow... worlds better. Not dead silent but certainly near it, especially for such a quiet album. Very satisfied.
Unlike my copy of the US reissue, this pressing is nearly flawless. I recommend this one over the UMe pressing any day of the week.
  • Nikohn
Of course I heard ‘pink moon’ on that commercial years ago, which is great b/c it led me to eventually buying this record and this is a great record. Nice and quiet pressing so you can put it on and just drift away.
  • Scream_I LOVE YOU
This is an enchanting record, I have never owned a Back To Black LP release, so far I'm really grateful I bought this
  • Gravelblade
Truly wonderful pressing. No surface noise and you can hear every detail down to every squeak of Nick Drakes guitar strings.
  • Wel
Great pressing. No surface noise and very good quality overall.
  • Fato
Is this better than the crappy US reissue?
  • Stylish Monkey
Found this pressing at an Urban Outfitters of all places. It sounds fantastic. Dead quiet, great signal. I haven't heard a vintage pressing but I'm very happy with this one. This pressing is also in dramatic contrast to one I got from Amazon---also a Universal 180g pressing (but from the US)---which was the worst piece of new vinyl I've ever heard. That one was noisier than almost any junk record I have laying around and had loads of signal distortion to boot (this is the one I'm talking about: http://www.discogs.com/Nick-Drake-Pink-Moon/release/4515365).
  • Raniconne
At least my soundsystem agrees, totally. " Dead quiet, great signal. I haven't heard a vintage pressing but I'm very happy with this one."
  • Wen
i just got this album, but it says nothing about back to black or made in germany. same catalog number though and made in usa. it says manufactured by universal music distribution.
  • Uranneavo
Any idea if this is the same pressing as the "Back to Black" version released around the same time? The Back To Black release clearly advertises that it is a remaster (and reportedly sounds amazing), and I'm wondering if this is the same thing, just without the Back to Black branding/cover sticker...catalog numbers are identical...
  • SupperDom
Well, my copy has a "Back to Black" sticker (as also the release notes above say). But this sticker says nothing about the record being a remaster. Sound absolutely amazing, nevertheless.
